Acne is a skin condition that occurs when pores become clogged with excess oil, dirt and dead skin cells. These conditions become a buffet for bacteria, which then causes the acne to further spread.

We usually only think of the face being affected, but the chest, back and shoulders can be affected as well. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages. It does not discriminate.

There are a few things we can do to ease the control acne has over our lives. There are three main focuses; bacteria, exfoliation and hydration.

💥 BACTERIA

Bacteria start to breed quickly. It is important to never use a washcloth more than once. Also, when fighting acne, it is imperative that a towel never be utilized more than twice within 24 hours. After that, too many bacteria have begun to multiply. This can spread acne.

💥 EXFOLIATION

Soft new skin is the best skin. A gentle exfoliation is majorly important to keeping your pores unclogged of dirt and oil, and for resurfacing the dry dead skin cells. If your pores are healthy and clean, there is no obstruction, or anything to feed the bacteria.

💥 HYDRATION

Staying hydrated is important for your skin’s health, both inside and out. Including lots of water in your diet can do a lot to help keep your skin cells hydrated. This minimizes the flakiness of your skin, and the clogging of your pores. Moisturizing your skin with a non-comedogenic moisturizer, twice daily, will go even further.

Often, skin becomes oily because it is overcompensating for it’s lack of moisture. This double hydration strategy will assist with controlling your skin’s balance.

A few quick changes in our daily routine, can go a long way towards giving us the skin we so fondly remember having at ten. Clearer skin is worth a couple more minutes. of our very busy days.
